Every year Hale Kula students vote for Ghost Dog Secrets to be the Nene Winner. We LOVE this book. Ethan and I were talking about the Ghost Dog. We wondered, why did he show himself to Rusty? Why not go straight to the animal protection officer? Let us know what you think! Post your response by Tuesday, October 27 at 8:00 pm. 1. Why does the Ghost Dog appear for Rusty? Explain your thinking in a few sentences. Give details from the book. 2. Your first name & room number |

Rusty was feeding an injured German Shepherd that was chained up out side in the cold weather with no food, water, or shelter.

I like the details you included, Micheala--cold weather, no food, water or shelter. So you think the Ghost Dog saw Rusty helping the animal?

The ghost dog went to Rusty because there was an German Shepherd chained up on a tree and the ghost dog didn't want to let that dog die from mean man Myres (bad owner).

Tatiana, do you think the Ghost Dog chose Rusty randomly? Or, do you think he chose Rusty for a reason?

The ghost dog appeared for Rusty because there was an injured German Shepherd chained in front of a house with no food or water.

Renae, I wonder if the ghost dog appeared for the neighbors or other people who passed the house. Why do you think Ghost Dog went to Rusty?

Dru, you are right. The man wasn't giving the dog what he needed to survive. But why did Ghost Dog go to Rusty?

Companionship animals play an important role in the lives of humans. Cats keep us company on the couch. Dogs play Frisbee with us at the park. Pets can even prolong a person's life, lowering the risk of heart attack and rates of depression. Comments are closed.
