Fifth grade students worked in two teams for the Olelo Video Project--one group chose to focus on helping animals and the other group on creating peace/stopping bullies.
Students learned about the contest, chose their category, researched their topic and focused their ideas into a catchy message. This took a lot of team work, compromise, discussion and patience! Under the guidance of Mrs. Cummings, Hale Kula's Media Technology Teacher, and with support from Mrs. Colte, librarian, and Mrs. Cramer, 5th grade teacher, the students struggled to focus their message.
However, once they identified their themes, they knew how they wanted to bring these messages to life through video. Students did a storyboard of their ideas, captured the video and began the editing process. They added music, cut clips down in size, changed the presentation, and revised their wording.
Hard work pays off! Their clips are awesome! Check back soon to see their final products.
